The World Cup and the Politics of Football with Cas Mudde

On Tuesday, June 16, at 7pm, the Pride Committee will welcome Cas Mudde for a discussion on ‘The World Cup and the Politics of Football’ in Dalymount Park's Mono Bar, with sports broadcaster, Stephen Doyle, leading the conversation. 


Cas is an avid football fan and will discuss themes such as the politics of the upcoming World Cup, the #StopTheGame campaign, and the role football clubs can play in stemming the rise of the far-right.

Cas Mudde is a writer, academic, and scholar of far-right and populist politics. Professor of International Affairs at the University of Georgia. Columnist for Aftonbladet and contributor to the Guardian, currently researching Soccer and Democracy.
